| | This is a great piece of vintage pressed glass. It is marked
with an A inside of a triangle. The pattern is like a hobnail diamond shape such as English Hobnail or Miss America Pattern depression glass pattern. It has a metal lid, screw on, and a tube that goes down into the body that allows for the sugar to be dispensed. It measures almost 6 1/2" tall and is about 3" in diameter at the widest point. There are no chips, dents or dings, there are a few minor scratches and teeny tiny spots of discoloration on the lid and
spout. |

This is a very pretty 6 sided clear or crystal depression glass candy dish. I think that it is by the Indiana Glass Co. and is their Daisy pattern by the scalloped rim throws me. I measures about 6 1/2" across. The pattern on the sides is viney with a flower (daisy) in the bottom of the dish. The edges are scalloped. No marks. Great chip free condition, clear glass. |

This vintage depression glass dish is in the Columbia pattern by the Federal Glass Co. circa 1938. This piece has ribs, scallops and hobnails. It is 2 3/4" tall and 4 3/4" in diameter at the widest point at the top. There are no chips or cracks. NOTE: I received an e-mail from a "long time Columbia pattern collector" who told me that a covered dish was never made in the Columbia depression glass line.
I had been searching for the name of this piece for years so when the last Depression Glass show was in the Kansas City area I took this dish with me and asked one of the dealer's about it. He is the one that told me it is the Columbia pattern. So.... we have a Depression Glass dealer who actually handled the piece and gave me this pattern name -vs- someone who is looking at it online. I feel pretty confident in the dealer but please use your own expertise in this area. I
still have not seen this particular piece in a book or anywhere else but I do feel comfortable in calling this Columbia until someone can tell me otherwise. One thing I have learned in dealing in antiques for over 25 years, "Never say never."
