The Cheery Scarecrow by Johnny Gruelle Product Details   The Cheery Scarecrow by Johnny Gruelle 1929, M.A. Donohue & Co. New York. This wonderful vintage book has a red cloth cover, no dust jacket. The scarecrow and title text on the cover are in black. There are quite a few color and black and white Johnny Gruelle drawings inside. This vintage book is in fair condition. There is wear to the cloth cover on the edges and a couple of mild splotches on the lower part of the cover. A bookplate in on the inside front cover. 3 of the pages have light crayon marks on the pictures, like the one above. Tight binding. A very readable and collectible copy of this book.
