February 2004 I hope that this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. All is well here in the Midwest. We still have about 5 inches of snow on the ground left over from a 9 inch snowfall last week, which was absolutely beautiful. I built a snowman for the first time in atleast 10 years and it was so much fun. I highly recommend it for everyone who has the opportunity to do so. I used fruits and vegetables for the facial features so that
the birds and squirrels could have some food. Our high temperature is in the mid 20's, which is a little too frigid for my thin native Texan blood but that is okay, I don't have to venture out in it very often. In fact, some of the cleverest scams seem to originate in third-world countries, but they are
certainly not exclusive to those locations. Because so many collectors have turned to online auctions to sell and buy, I will focus on the most egregious frauds involving auction sites. The most popular and best-known of the online
