Vintage Cheerful Tearful Doll by Mattel, 1966 If you were born in the late 1950s or very early 1960s I bet this is the Cheerful Tearful doll you owned, I know she was one of my favorites. They were reissued later where you poked them in the belly to make them cry and they had a
silly looking face.... this is the early and original baby. I also have Tubsy but just haven't decided whether or not I can sell her.. and Baby First Step with her skates. This is not the little Cheerful Tearful this precious dear is about 12" tall, I forgot to measure her before she went into the cedar chest for storage This sweet vintage Mattel doll is in very good condition she still laughs and
pouts with the raising and lowering of her arm. She is also a drink and wet doll. She is supposed to cry but I could not find a little plastic baby bottle to fill her up and see if she still cries. The only problem I can find with this doll besides the fact that she is naked is that her hair has become somewhat stiff. She still has her little top knot of a different color but she has lost the luster in her hair but haven't we all, my luster is now in a bottle
called Herbal Essences. |
