I found this hanger buried in the ground under the canopy of the barn behind my house.  I live in a house that has been in the family since the 1940's, and no one in the family has recollection of the item.  Due to the unusual configuration, I was curious if anyone had information as to the particular function of this item.  Any information is appreciated.  Thank you.
