Trying to find information on this pottery that was my grandpas.  There is a gnome type face on it, cattails, and a mushroom painted around it.  If I can figure out, I will try to attach pics. Thanks

It doesn't look like something that was made by a major pottery manufacturer. It is a nice piece and seems to be well made and decorated. It is probably something that a small pottery or individual made.

Have you googled the name on the bottom?

It seems to be dated 1998?Huh

I have done a seach on "jack vance glan" for that is my interpretation of the handwriting, was thinking maybe someone else had another idea.  I think the year is 1948, my mom knows grandpa had it when she was still living at home. (me being over the hill I know it can't be '98 LOL) All they can remember is that he bought it at an auction. I was thinking about going to the Indian Musuem in a close town to see if they would have anything that resembles, or know anything about the piece.  It would be cool just to find out history on it and who the artist was and did.

This is not an American Indian piece look at real American Indian pottery and the design work that is on the pieces., I still go with a small or home potter.
