Need Help To Identify Bavaria mark
«

My mother-in-law gave me a tea? coffee? set that my father-in-law bought in Germany in 1951. I have searched endlessly and cannot find any information on it. It is white porcelain with a cobalt trim and gold trim on rim. It is marked Bavaria blau-gold 4 in blue with a stamp that looks like an elongated diamond with what might be a W inside it. Please see Pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lynn

People looking for info on this mark should take note that it is a distributor mark and not a manufacturer mark. It can be found in various colors (including gold) and sometimes shows additions like '
Silesia
' or in this case '
Bavaria
' indicating country of origin, however the company that ordered these items for resale is in fact
Woolworth's
.
