My mother-in-law gave me a tea? coffee? set that my father-in-law bought in Germany in 1951.  I have searched endlessly and cannot find any information on it.  It is white porcelain with a cobalt trim and gold trim on rim.  It is marked Bavaria blau-gold 4 in blue with a stamp that looks like an elongated diamond with what might be a W inside it.  Please see Pics.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks Lynn

People looking for info on this mark should take note that it is a distributor mark and not a manufacturer mark. It can be found in various colors (including gold) and sometimes shows additions like 'Silesia' or in this case 'Bavaria' indicating country of origin, however the company that ordered these items for resale is in fact Woolworth's.
